Poster and Video Contest:

Poster Contest

Requirements:

  • All submissions must be in a digital format. This is a change from previous years – no non-digital entries will be accepted.
    Submissions should be .JPG, .GIF, .TIF, or .PNG formats only.

  • Submissions only need to include the artwork; Technology Fair information will be added later when producing the poster and T-shirt. (See below for an additional note.)

  • Images should be 18 inches on a side. (At 72 DPI – dots per inch – resolution, that equals an image with dimensions of 1296 x 1296.)

  • Submissions should be visually eye-catching, and be related in some way to technology other than having been created with a digital image program.

  • All artwork should be original – portions of the artwork may be borrowed from other sources, but the overall submission should be unique to the artist.
    Any submissions which include other artwork should indicate where that artwork came from.

  • Variations on previous winning entries are not eligible.

Submitting Entries

  • Submissions are due by 3 PM on Friday, December 4th. Contest entrants must register at the website to be considered. Click here to register for the Poster Contest.

  • Entries should be emailed to techfairforsyth@gmail.com before the deadline. If your submission includes other artwork that you have used (in part or completely), also cite in your email where you obtained that artwork.

    Winners will be contacted and posted on the Tech Fair website by Tuesday, December 8th.

Video Contest

Requirements:

  • Video advertisement must be no longer than 60 seconds. Standard television commercials are 30 seconds.

  • The purpose of the ad should be to develop interest in people so that they go to the website for more information about registering for the Tech Fair.
    The website address must be included:
    http://techfair.forsyth.k12.ga.us

  • Language and imagery used in the ads must be appropriate for viewing by students at any grade level – kindergarten through 12th grade.

  • Submissions must be in digital format. Accepted formats are .WMV, .AVI, .MPG or .MOV. See below for submission information.

  • Submissions should have high, broadcast-quality video and audio. The quality of the submission as well as the content will be used to determine the winner.

Submitting Entries

The video entry should consist of:

  • Submissions are due by 3 PM on Friday, December 4th. Contest entrants must register at the website to be considered. Click here to register for the Video Contest.
    NOTE: The Video registration form asks for names of all persons who appear on camera (who are not the entrants themselves). Only in the event that a submission is chosen, those persons will be contacted to obtain permission for their image to be broadcast.

  • All entries must be submitted on CD-ROM or portable media to the school’s Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) before the deadline of 3 PM on Friday, December 4th.

Winners will be contacted and posted on the Tech Fair website by Tuesday, December 8th.
